I am grateful for productive days; sharing the company outing pictures during our admin meeting; a successful trip to Home Depot to re-pot my mini rose; patience, and the time I could dedicate to soaking/rinsing/separating the roots of the mini rose while listening/singing-along-to Enya; Tyler picking up a filling dinner; Tyler’s sexy new haircut; Dutch scarfing his wet food and playing with his new toy.

Workout: Rest Day (Does scrubbing the kitchen floors and cabinets, doing the dishes, and meandering around Home Depot for 30 minutes count?)

I am grateful for a healthy and happy home; Dutch’s ease once we get into the vet’s office and his happiness when he gets home; a flexible and understanding workplace which allowed me to take a long lunch to get Dutch to the vet; Tyler picking up dinner, playing piano as I hum along, and indulging my desire to visualize our home design.

I am grateful for sleeping in on a grey morning; the space heater under my office desk; quick access to healthy food; warm comfort food; Valentines chocolate on sale; working at a steady pace; the good milk in the glass bottle; apple juice; and Tyler rubbing my arm as I fall asleep.

Workout: 15 minutes Glutes & Abs yoga (before Norton started running because my computer was “idle” and promptly crashed shockwave seconds before Tyler got home), 30 minutes Wii Free Step (2999 steps), 2 minute Wii Basic Run Plus

The first two weeks of February were shrouded with a health scare. After a regular physical in the first week of February, I was in extreme pain which lasted the weekend until I was able to see a doctor on Monday. Shortly after that an ultrasound was scheduled which merely determined that I had waited too long to seek medical help. Fortunately, my body was quick to do the necessary self-healing it needed. I am grateful for my supportive coworkers (who urged me to go back to the doctors on Friday and in hindsight I should have listened), my supportive family, including Tyler who did all he could to make sure I was going to be alright (short of carrying me down the driveway and forcing me into the emergency room – for which I am also thankful), and my health.

I am grateful for a delicious staff lunch to welcome our newest coworker; having a good evaluation and some retirement planning decisions (though very far off) to consider; keeping busy all day; Tyler solving office issues like the genius he is; running a birthday errand for the office after work so that the birthday gal, the first person in the office each day, arrives to roses and a mini balloon on her desk; getting home to play with the kitty (who made it known that I should have visited at lunch), kick back with a glass of wine and the newest episode of The Bachelor; and Tyler getting home safe after an awful experience with a crazy driver and the local PD.

I am grateful for our helpful work environment; gaining a new staff member and refreshing my memory about my responsibilities when I was hired; taking my new coworker to a traditional first-day lunch locale; the day flying by; watching the first three episodes of Leland Montgomery’s web series God Particles; free yoga videos; talking about our day over the phone and when Tyler gets home; the cat cuddling on Tyler’s plaid; and Tyler practicing piano while I prepare leftover burrito bowls for dinner.

Workout: 25 min of hands-wrists-forearms yoga & neck yoga; 5 minutes of pilates

I am grateful for salad lunch and veggie snacks; fresh water; planning dinner ahead of time and trying a new recipe; checking tasks off of my work load; looking forward to online classes; getting organized for taxes; grocery runs with most of my time spent in the produce section; new recipes that are easy and tasty; and when the cat chooses to curl-up in my lap.

Workout: Rest Day (knee pains)

Recipe of the Day: Maple Dijon Chicken
Notes: Dijon to Maple is 2-to1; consider a 1-to-1. Would go well with herb & goat cheese cauliflower mash, sweet potatoes, or a beat salad.
Did not use: corn starch, rosemary, rice vinegar (used red wine vinegar), or onion powder.
